Brokers must be on the public register of brokers, though firms already operating have until about August 2027 to register. VAT is 21%.

How do I check a Montenegrin estate agent?

Brokers must be entered in the register of brokers, a public electronic database kept by the economic development ministry, with agents' exam certificates and any sanctions. Anyone can request an extract, issued within three days. Firms that were operating before the Act have 24 months to register, to about August 2027, so a firm missing from the register is not yet proof of anything.

Every broker must also carry liability insurance of at least EUR 20,000 per claim and EUR 60,000 a year (article 8). The ownership record to check: the list nepokretnosti explained.
