Chania's old harbour: a Greek agent's fee is negotiated and must be in writing

Greece real estate agent fees: negotiated, and always in writing.

Agent fees in Greece. Negotiated. Always in writing. Brinkman Data brand card.

// Short answer

Greek law sets no rate for an estate agent's fee: it is freely negotiable, with no legal minimum, and it must be stated as an amount or a percentage in a written contract (an email will do). The fee is due when the sale contract is signed, paid by whoever signed with the agent. If the agent also acts for the other side without your contract allowing it, you may refuse to pay.

How much does a Greek estate agent charge?

Whatever is agreed. Law 4072/2012 (article 200) says the fee is freely negotiable and not subject to any legal minimum, and the brokerage contract must state it as an amount or a percentage.

No official source publishes a typical rate, so the contract figure is the only one that counts. Every other cost: Greece property buying costs.

Who pays the estate agent in Greece, buyer or seller?
